Every month, we'll have a post where new characters and old characters can plan out backstories with one another. This should hopefully get characters something to work with when coming up with their alternate universes and get some prebuilt CR for those who are looking for it! This is NOT a requirement, you could be an unattached person if you'd like! However, for those who do want it, this is the place for you!

Before you start with making an AU, I would recommend getting familiar with some of the information to get an idea of how the setting works here.

✯Established Characters

For established characters, you can use this post as well! If you have an "open to all" type of CR where you're always needing a certain type of CR, you can do that here! This includes a restaurant needing regular patrons or a teacher needing students, guinea pigs for experiments, etc. Open to All is literally Open to All, it is never closed until the OP player adds a CLOSED comment so if you're a new player, don't feel like you're overwhelming them by commenting!!

Whenever you reach your CR limit, feel free to comment to your toplevel with the header CLOSED to let new players know that you're not taking any more CR for the time being (of course you can still tag new potential players!). It will also close automatically once the new monthly post goes up.

ANNOUNCEMENTS AND PLACEMENTS

Good evening! I hope your weekend has been swell!

As always, I appreciate the patience, I've been murdered by work and RL because we've been having to do overtime and manage customer service/medical billing calls on top of our regular job AND YOU KNOW, THATS KINDA BRAIN SUCKING!! Hecked up. However, that's why I'm pretty behind, on top of three birthdays on the same day, and I'm slowly working on catchup. unfortunately, I will still be doing some customer service things in the future, so I'll still be really busy and scattered brain.

But lets talk announcements!! There's a lot because there's always a lot.

◆ Mitzi is running an event, starting tomorrow. It'll last a few days, it is darker in theme, but there's a [fuck off and do something silly] option also. Stay tuned for that! It'll lead into something bigger in the future.

◆ I have found that 3 hr sit-down mini events do in fact work very well! Exploring events are great because it allows people to tag at their own speed and can be massive places to explore which is fun, but because my life is often busy, they take a long time to complete (and I feel very bad about that). I still plan to run exploring events because some things just require it (Acidia's upcoming tunnel explora, I'm looking at you ;)), but WITH THAT SAID, I'm going to start putting up "slots" on the calendar on random dates and times where teams can "claim" a plot event mini-game slot. Amnesia folk can also probably also claim slots, but let me see how it goes.

Forge and Sirens Melodies will be the first priority and after that, I'll come up with a process for claiming.

Past Lives

Every month or two, I'll post a scenario that people can use to play out "past memories" within their Estoria lives. This scenario style is kind of similar to the rp meme comm, bakerstreet style, where there will be a theme to the post to give some direction to your threads!

Potential New Players can try out their characters here as well! This is a great place to test drive as needed. However, for new characters, please post a toplevel instead of commenting to others UNLESS YOU HAVE PERMISSION FROM THE TOPLEVEL PLAYER that it's okay. The reason is unless stated otherwise, everything here will be considered canon. If you just want to test drive without any fear of making things canon, just notate "TEST DRIVE" in your header! Otherwise, treat it as canon even for new characters!

This is a post to play out backstory scenarios! Why have an AU if we CANNOT PLAY WITH THE AU!!!!!! I also enjoy the dichotomy of past and present threads so hopefully you can enjoy that as well!!

But if you just wanna mess around and not make it canon, notate that in the toplevel header with something like "NON-CANON" just so the other player is aware.

✯THE CIRRUS CIRCULATION✯
As a whole, most people find the Cirrus Circulation pretty boring. It's just generic news articles that you would expect in any magazine at your local market. Recipes, political commentary, advertisements, you know, the boring stuff. However, every week, this magazine is sold out.

Why?

Well, there's one particular section in the magazine that has become a viral sensation. There's a section where a member of Cirrus family asks questions to some random family member of the eight families, and at the end of the interview, there is a url at the end that buyers of the magazine can access. Buyers can then find a submission form where they can ask any question they'd like anonymously, and if the family member answers them, Cirrus publishes it on a website and then pays the interviewee some hefty cash for it. The more questions answered, the more money they get.

However, the questions have become relatively unhinged or weird or full of drama which has brought out great appeal amongst the general populace. When a famous siren's melodies' singer got asked a question about their secret love affair from their own husband? Whew!!! People talked about that drama for at least three days.

2. Reply to other people's interviews and ask them questions "anonymously". Don't be afraid to ask them the worst questions, but be careful, they might not answer if they're too offensive. But you never know, they might!

And you can keep responding to one another, treat it like a funny forum or old school messageboard. Maybe even like those 90s websites where people would argue in guestbooks.
