For the next OOC month or so, the performers of the Limelight Stage will be staying in Port Manteau and enjoying a break to enjoy their time with their families and friends off of the boat! During this time, I'm gonna allow people to join and play around as other citizens of Estoria and rp CR of their castmates, to kind of allow people to test out characters and maybe flesh out backstories before considering apping into the game when apps reopen. They'll reopen when teams have more open spots (since I don't feel like dealing with queues if I can help it, but I'm going to guess May/June time frame).

Here's the process for anyone who wants to test out the game. For the sake of consistency, I'll refer to temporary characters as test drivers and in-game characters as performers ok ok.

1. You must be a friend of Celi and/or have Celi's approval. If you wish to invite a friend to play, please make sure they are a friend-friend you trust and not like a casual mutual you met in a different game for all of one month and they just happen to be on your plurk list still. Then you can DM me and ask if it's ok for so-and-so to join.

2. If you're a test driver that wishes to play a castmate/close CR, please ask your castmate first if that's okay! If you get the approval, hooray! If they say they'd rather not, please respect their wishes.

3. Your character can be the following options (one or more):

◆ A member of one of the eight families.
◆ A character with amnesia
◆ Just a regular normal person who hasn't chosen a family yet.

5. I'll comment that you're okay to join and then you can join the main comm and comment to any of the Estoria related posts! Anything that takes place on the Limelight boat is not allowed, but everything else is free game.

6. Then post your info here AFTER you're accepted, please post it under Port Manteau (temp) tab.

7. Also join the discord AFTER you're accepted.

8. To avoid the game being over-saturated with too many posts (because I don't know how many people are going to be testing the game out), invited test drivers aren't allowed to post, please ask a performer to post if you have a specific idea.

9. I would prefer plot related explorations to be left to Performers at this time!

10. For any events that might be hosted by Producers, I'll let the Producers decide on whether test drivers can join in. Please respect them if they say no.

11. IMPORTANT IC NOTE, for any test drivers, if a performer tries to convince you that the boat involves murder and injuries or any plot related history that involves rituals, legends, etc., you will not believe them. Or at the very least, you will find that these situations sound like crazy performances that must come off as super realistic.

13. I don't really want to manage test driver's blessings/powers at this time, forgive me. If you super super super super super super super super need it for a thread or something, you can just ask me in discord.

14. This is more for performers, but threads with any test drivers count towards AC. Test drivers don't need to make AC for obvious reason.

Things to keep in mind if you decide to apply to Limelight afterwards!

◆ You are not guaranteed to keep the same family as the family you rped with here. If you decide to keep your memories of this event, you MUST have come up with an IC reason for the family switch. Family switches cannot be forced upon you, there must be an IC reason.

◆ If you decide to app but not keep memories of this event, please notate that to any of your CR. It is up to you whether the CR is allowed to keep the CR/threads canon to your character or not. If you want to do a whole fresh slate, people must respect that.

◆ You still have to submit an application.

◆ You are not forever guaranteed to have this character just because you test drove them! If someone else submits the app, they are allowed to do so. The character they app will be considered different from yours and no one will confuse this character for yours.

Every month, we'll have a post where new characters and old characters can plan out backstories with one another. This should hopefully get characters something to work with when coming up with their alternate universes and get some prebuilt CR for those who are looking for it! This is NOT a requirement, you could be an unattached person if you'd like! However, for those who do want it, this is the place for you!

Before you start with making an AU, I would recommend getting familiar with some of the information to get an idea of how the setting works here.

For established characters, you can use this post as well! If you have an "open to all" type of CR where you're always needing a certain type of CR, you can do that here! This includes a restaurant needing regular patrons or a teacher needing students, guinea pigs for experiments, etc. Open to All is literally Open to All, it is never closed until the OP player adds a CLOSED comment so if you're a new player, don't feel like you're overwhelming them by commenting!!

When you post your comment looking to plot, please toplevel the post with OPEN TO ALL | CHARACTER CANON NAME (CANON) and then fill out the following:

Whenever you reach your CR limit, feel free to comment to your toplevel with the header CLOSED to let new players know that you're not taking any more CR for the time being (of course you can still tag new potential players!). It will also close automatically once the new monthly post goes up.

NEW!! TEMPORARY FOR EVENT:This is also a place where you can try to discuss and come up with plot/posts to play with as the event goes on. For example, maybe you want to figure out more info on underground crime stuff or maybe a cool hip post of an in-game festival, etc. so you don't overlap one another.

You can format that however you like, but you could maybe have the event in the title and then describe what you're looking for in the comment body itself. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS DM ME.

If you want someone to rp your generic npc CR, this is also the place to advertise for that!
