Every month, we'll have a post where new characters and old characters can plan out backstories with one another. This should hopefully get characters something to work with when coming up with their alternate universes and get some prebuilt CR for those who are looking for it! This is NOT a requirement, you could be an unattached person if you'd like! However, for those who do want it, this is the place for you!

Before you start with making an AU, I would recommend getting familiar with some of the information to get an idea of how the setting works here.

For established characters, you can use this post as well! If you have an "open to all" type of CR where you're always needing a certain type of CR, you can do that here! This includes a restaurant needing regular patrons or a teacher needing students, guinea pigs for experiments, etc. Open to All is literally Open to All, it is never closed until the OP player adds a CLOSED comment so if you're a new player, don't feel like you're overwhelming them by commenting!!

AU idea(s): I'm gonna lean into canon a bit with this. Mel's gonna be a pro wrestler under the ring name of Cassowary (but 'real' Nom de Plume of Rosefinch. If you've dated, she's asked you to call her this when in private, but only in private.).

- Big, flashy, high flying performance type. Who doesn't love to see people beat each other senseless in scripted matches? Kayfabe, the idea that wrestling is all real and these people really act like this, is still in force here. It's exhausting, sometimes.

- Story-wise, for the promotion, she's been a hero and a villain as it suits her. Currently a heel, drawing a lot of heat from Sun Sign after taking her opponents' boots and sticking them in a wood chipper after a match. (She'll swing back to face soon, this whole storyline is to boost up the new guy and she's 'jealous' now, but will swing in to save the day in a few months at the Violence Road event.) (They're making a new pair of boots for her to present to that wrestler to 'atone.')

- Parents were a Forge and a Siren's Melody. Neither of them really approves of her career, but they can at least sit down together for a meal now and then (when her schedule allows it).

- Doesn't have the strongest connection to the Averse. She's a member of the Family, all right, it's just that work has her on the road eighty days out of a rotation so she barely has any time to do anything with people who aren't with the promotion. This is the first vacation she's had in years.

- She's also put out three albums. Opera. Pop music. Symphonic metal. She's a spectacular singer who can identify and throw back any note you care to play at her, up to and including the crystal-shattering ones. She doesn't write her own songs, mind you, but who does these days? She probably could've been in Siren's Melodies, but they likely frown on beating people with steel chairs. (Also, she kinda feels like she's being judged by the Arias, even if they aren't. Projection, thy name is Rosefinch.)

- (Used to have a video channel where she'd review music and talk about how amazing the singers were. During a particularly stressful year, there may have been a breakdown where she might have said between sobs that she wished she went into music seriously. The entire channel vanished a few days later.)

- A big participant in the Grant-a-Wish charity for terminally ill kids.
Roles/CR you're interested in:
- Wrestleman fans are good. Haters are fine, too, you still buy tickets or watch on TV even if you want to see her face kicked in. She'll sign your action figures.
- Maybe you snagged her albums? Validate her. She'll sign your albums, too.
- Or that time(s) she posed for various magazines. She's gonna judge you pretty hard if you bring her a centerfold to sign, but she'll do it. (She'll put an extra flourish for anyone who brings her one of the actual sports or fashion mags, though.)
- Gym partners, maybe. She's not gonna sign your weights.
- Former romantic partners. (She probably broke up with you, though. Her work-life balance is bullshit and she doesn't want to sacrifice her career to be more available. She didn't even realize she was in a relationship with at least one person until she had to dump them over the phone.) She might've signed your body somewhere.
- Someone she can drop kayfabe around and just relax with. Jesus Christ, do you know how hard it is to be 'on' all the time just in case a fan sees you and realizes you're friends with the lady who tried to beat you to death in front of thousands of screaming fans? She'll sign something for you to sell online.
- Maybe someone who's treated her after a nasty injury. Lots of bad things can happen in this business! Sometimes she needs someone who'll patch her up or help with physical therapy. She'll sign your paychecks.
- Maybe someone who'll help her restructure her life because, babe, you are gonna burn out. You probably don't want her to sign anything at this point.
Wants and Dreams:
- A slice of cake.
- Someone to make her feel more included in non-work stuff.
- Someone to be normal around. Romantic? Maybe.

He'd definitely be a fan of hers, who cares if she's a face or a heel she's good at what she does and that's what he cares about

I am an on and off fan, but two of my current coworkers are massive fans, so I've been getting caught up on a lot of the stuff I've missed since I last dipped my toes in.

He isn't a hater but she probably wouldn't be his favorite. He's more likely to be into some weird cult following wrestler, the kind that has a really out-there gimmick that they absolutely commit to. idk wrestling except vicariously through my brother but if faces are Coke and heels are Pepsi then Flamingo is off in the corner drinking Faygo.

The strange wrestlemen sell tickets, too...

Ahh Sam loves opera. I would love him to actually be a fan. So someone who does opera and symphonic metal would be really in his range concerning his love of sound.

Also since she is a big charity someone to kids she got his vote.

Sounds good to me! She probably won't sing unless someone pushes her into it, it's kind of embarrassing when you've got, like, a dozen Siren's Melodies standing around.

I mean, I probably couldn't recognize Floor Jansen or Sharon den Adel if I met them. I mean, they don't have her distinctive hair, but if you just style it differently it could be anything from a big ol' regular stripeto the pink bangs she usually rocks with. She's even swept it right so that the pink's totally invisible. Somehow.

(Not a disguise her canon self likes doing. Reminds her too much of back when she used to wear a white wig, before she got her hair color tweaked.)

Yeah and sometimes you just ... facial recognition blind because Sam isn't good at making friends. :D;;

WRESTLEMAN FAN. If she's done any small venue music shows in the last few years he could've been to those, but otherwise I think it's more likely he'd just know her from her wrestling career.

Yeah, she's not really an active musician. The albums were more like "I think this would be fun to do" and her bosses thinking it'd draw in new fans.

(results are mixed on that)

Some ideas for Sparrow:
- Casual friend/acquaintance? Someone she can hang out with and not have to worry about being "on" around
- If he's in her strike zone, exes? I feel like a mutual "I didn't realize this was a relationship until the break-up over the phone happened" could be kinda funny since Sparrow's not particularly interested in or very good at relationships either.
- He's a tattoo artist in his AU, so if she has tattoos, maybe he did one of hers.
