AU Backstory Planning Post

Every month, we'll have a post where new characters and old characters can plan out backstories with one another. This should hopefully get characters something to work with when coming up with their alternate universes and get some prebuilt CR for those who are looking for it! This is NOT a requirement, you could be an unattached person if you'd like! However, for those who do want it, this is the place for you!

Before you start with making an AU, I would recommend getting familiar with some of the information to get an idea of how the setting works here.

✯Established Characters

For established characters, you can use this post as well! If you have an "open to all" type of CR where you're always needing a certain type of CR, you can do that here! This includes a restaurant needing regular patrons or a teacher needing students, guinea pigs for experiments, etc. Open to All is literally Open to All, it is never closed until the OP player adds a CLOSED comment so if you're a new player, don't feel like you're overwhelming them by commenting!!

Rem grew up in a cop family and idolized his dad, so he became a cop. That's it that's the backstor—

He's partners with Azrael (Acheron)! They were thrown together because she was a newbie and Rem kept getting in trouble, then oops wow they work really well together.

They've been partners for three years and she is the muscle.

if they’re regulars at frost’s bar it’s v easy to become at least casual buddies, though he is the bartender and drinks very lightly on the job

also he is a well-known neutral info broker and does sell info to Holy Order as long as he’s not doing weird conflicts of interest with it (eg. he won’t like, sell info on criminals/orgs who are also in the immediate area using his services or vice versa). so if you wanna say they’ve used his services before I’m down

omg yes, i'm down for both of those. rem is a Big Drinker so he's likely a regular at the very least

HELLO I have one(1) scrungly semi-feral Disorder street kid who can possibly have gotten busted / ESCAPED being busted for graffiti some time; he also more recently sometimes comes down to the station to pick up his adoptive younger brother (Magpie) after bailing him out from getting caught on minor misdemeanours which go away quickly bc Magpie is still young. also money probably. I mean he does sometimes come with pastries and coffee for the officers on duty so look he's totally a good kid and definitely not a serious crimes boy.

ALSO THOUGH if Leon and Acheron are regulars at Frost's bar they will sometimes see Crow there, in his full disguise TOTALLY A DIFFERENT PERSON, ambiguously aged young info broker who goes there occasionally at night to pick up and/or sell/give out info; usually if he's giving info to the Order he drops it with the chief but sometimes with the officers involved in the case so maybe he can have stuck a freebie under Rem's door? or met up at said bar, etc. he tries to stay neutral but definitely seems to lean towards helping to bust serious criminals through less-than-legal routes rather than being in it purely for profit.

he would definitely totally not let him escape from his CRIMES or look the other way, he is a very serious cop - no he'd definitely just be like, please stop getting caught you two

i'm also down for totally not crow info broker! rem would play along, him and az both are more concerned with serious criminals

aww yeah thank you for being a cool dude he appreciates it HE WILL TRY NOT TO GET CAUGHT tbf he's usually pretty good at evading cops but he will try to make sure other street kids with less resources don't get caught by sacrificing himself if he's gotta, so

ME REALISING I WAS UNCLEAR, Heron is his civilian name and identity, Crow is his info broker one; he does wear like totally different clothes and a wig and contact lenses/goggles and face mask etc. disguise himself BUT I am down with Rem and Az having seen through it or having suspicions. Actual factual detectives vs scrappy teen doing his best at stealth. BUT YES EXCELLENT he can have given them info drops on some slippery big bads. this is affection,

yeah as long as he's not doing hardcore crime, they are very much like wow we are suddenly distracted, that's so wack

wowee lucky for him he just slipped away while they were distracted, wild

he is a very soft crimes type, absolutely does not harm innocent ppl etc. also even when he's at the bar he sticks to non-alcoholic drinks.

Hymn's a Disholy kid who got adopted into Holy and maybe has a side job that gets him in trouble with the law sometimes. Please don't tell his aunts.

So, it's hard for me to try to do this in two places, so I'll just have you relay to Juri if you might be interested!

Idk if you and Juri are down for it because not actually sure how deep they get into things as cops, but if they handle anything heavy like underground syndicate issues and you guys wanna do something with Sam or Duran, let me know! Much less likely they've ever dealt with Sam beyond like phantom thief style escapades (it they are like on homicide unit and had the misfortune of any of his cases), but Duran there a lot more wiggle room.

Completely random thought I had, but since Jun in also Holy Order who wants to be a public defender someday, he probably goes to public trials to watch them on the job in his free time (like the nerd he is). Perhaps he and Rem have crossed paths there.

Alternatively, he is a barista so they can always meet through early morning cup of joe antics.
