General AU idea:
Full disclosure: I wasn't part of the original plotting post! So I'm 100% open to anything, but also Riza is going the amnesiac route ~~because she's not allowed nice things~~.

With that in mind: She'll be a softer, blank slate kind of character. It'll be quickly apparent that she's hardworking and will assist where she can. She does have a strong sense of morality and dislikes cruelty. She won't immediately be very no-nonsense and may be more teasing to those she's close to. She'll also be a little hesitant to do the wrong thing - or at least to put herself out there.

Roles/CR you're interested in: A little mix of everything! People roughly her own age to communicate with/find her feet with. Older people who might see someone to help shape or mentor that she might look up to??? (Or might disagree with). Younger kids to be an adoptive big sister to who is probably more lost and confused than they are but will try to support them anyway.

Wants and Dreams:
Hi Riza Hawkeye is one of my favorite characters and I'm coming back to her 2 years after abandoning her. One of my things I like to explore and hope to with amnesia Riza is that you know... So much of her history isn't even her fault but she'll die to fix it anyway. And her childhood home was Not Good and just. A little positive affirmation. Let her have some nice, uncomplicated normal moments that does not involve genocide.

I MEAN b ad things can still happen but one of the lines that really gets me is that Riza wanted to become "Riza Hawkeye the individual," and I think even following Roy - and thus flame alchemy - she never fully gets to do that... so I want to explore letting her become a person away from flame alchemy/her father/Roy and not having to act as a bodyguard executioner, y'know?

So I'm fully down with anything from softer moments to having to grapple with harder choices that she has to make. Or maybe dumb stuff. Please this is the lady that in 4komas gives her dog a gun... She's not the Stupid One of her team but she has her moments. Let her be stupid/silly, ty.

This is a whole lot of nothing but I am open to anything!!!

i am so sorry that i cannot promise nice things, i promise he's a nice man once you get to know him, really - hhhh

that said, there can and should def be room for parenthood shenanigans between his adoption of Nona and Nona undoubtedly being curious about her fellow amnesiacs, thus his humoring her with a visit to Riza, possibly?

unfortunately i'm afraid if he gets even a whiff of how useful she is as, like. an asset, of like any kind - he will want to see the family find a good use for her, so to speak, and that may be the beginning of the end of her chances to not be a bodyguard or the like. the man has a mind not unlike mustang's .... or bradley's ... when it comes to the ruthlessly pragmatic employment of those talents he deems worth the effort. so we'll have to put our heads together to work out ways to avoid that! which i'm happy to do, just noting we probably will have to.

i'm partly still trying to parse together if amnesiacs can be amnesia for a while but!! i think riza has some sense of need of validation so a family could have picked her up when she was a little lost and earned some loyalty rather easily (rather or not she agrees with everyting later, different story).

so mayybee his reaching out for nona is how she really got brought in and settles in? since riza [before trauma] is pretty impressionable to the right words :') i think at first she will stick solely to secretarial/laboring work and i want to develop into any ability with guns but since she's a natural it won't.... NOT be obvious she's quite good and i'm happy to let that !! turn into anything it may

amnesia riza... cute. since there's no AU involved, i think miklós would probably get along well with riza?? (you know, after the initial cat vs. dog adjustment period.) he's a fair bit older than her - about a decade - but i think there's a lot of fun to be had between a hardworking beacon of morality and a cat with scrupulosity issues

when that hardworking beacon of morality will not think she is so when she gets memories of it :')

maybe he got saddled with showing this new amnesiac family member around... maybe she tries really hard to do all the things he asked her to. like a golden retriever looking for approval (no)

I need to sleep before something coherent will come together re: how they could meet up, but I do think amnesiac Riza and pretending-not-to-be-amnesiac Vash trying to figure their stuff out together could be VERY cute CR potentially.

I’m trying to noodle if there’s anywhere they could have bumped into each other prior to the cruise (Acidia’s cat cafe? bar? did she need repair work done at Forge and happened to come to the shop he works at now?) but if none of that feels ideal they CAN just meet on the boat itself!

idk where or how or what but!! I would definitely be down for Riza CR. Really, this is just me opening my arms and expressing some sort of interest.

AS FOR PEOPLE HER AGE... How old is she in this AU?

EITHER WAY, I'M SUPER HAPPY TO THREAD AND SEE HOW SHIT GOES? Who doesn't like blazingly badass women in their lives???

Also I am here for helping her get into that blobby style Arakawa does when things go dumb. I AM A VAST FIELD OF DUMBASSITRY.

If you're up for general acquaintances, Boothill and Riza could be fun! I think he's older than her, but he's also maybe the worst kind of mentor since he can get argumentative with authority himself.
