AU Backstory Planning Post

Every month, we'll have a post where new characters and old characters can plan out backstories with one another. This should hopefully get characters something to work with when coming up with their alternate universes and get some prebuilt CR for those who are looking for it! This is NOT a requirement, you could be an unattached person if you'd like! However, for those who do want it, this is the place for you!

Before you start with making an AU, I would recommend getting familiar with some of the information to get an idea of how the setting works here.

Thank you for having interest in joining! When you post your comment looking to plot, please toplevel the post with NEW CHARACTER | CHARACTER CANON NAME (CANON) and then fill out the following:

✯Established Characters

For established characters, you can use this post as well! If you have an "open to all" type of CR where you're always needing a certain type of CR, you can do that here! This includes a restaurant needing regular patrons or a teacher needing students, guinea pigs for experiments, etc. Open to All is literally Open to All, it is never closed until the OP player adds a CLOSED comment so if you're a new player, don't feel like you're overwhelming them by commenting!!

Whenever you reach your CR limit, feel free to comment to your toplevel with the header CLOSED to let new players know that you're not taking any more CR for the time being (of course you can still tag new potential players!). It will also close automatically once the new monthly post goes up.

ZWEI LIKING ROCK MUSIC WOULD IN FACT BE VERY ON BRAND AND FUNNY, so she could have attended a few gigs (and successfully dragged Echo to one before their falling out)

Echo could have taken notice of him at school, but at the time have been so stuck in her own head regarding her family and Holy/Unholy issues that she didn't bother to reach out to this lonely guy she vaguely recognized from unholy life AND that one concert

whereas I think, Zwei would respect him (the Unholy + music buffs, as it were) and be curious about him, but not the same reasons as Echo.

BUT BUSINESS CONNECTIONS WOULD BE A++

Oh!! Till (Forte) is the rocker! Tsukasa (Valerian) the shrine fox! Both of these work for me though since her seeing Forte's show works, and both having noticed Valerian at school, even if they haven't communicated is good as well!!

Business connections...! I had the wild idea that one of them could possibly be the girl Tsukasa's supposed to be engaged to that he's only met like once or twice (and does not want to marry sobs) but I don't think either family would be looking for a partner from another family (or that her family would be like that) And his is very traditional and hers runs a casino. The combo would be funny tho. Haha

CRYING I ONLY REALIZED THIS A FEW MINUTES AGO WHEN I ADDED MYSELF TO THE TAKEN SHEET, i swear i have both halves of my brain taped together, i promise-

BUT YES THAT ALL WORKS!!

And honestly, considering that Echo was slated to be the heir to the family trade (before she abandoned ship) and that the family is probably into roping in as many connections as possible to expand their association and ties to other people, I could see it making sense from her family's end!! And Echo would also not want to get married, so it'd be hilarious (but she's no longer in running to be an heir, so it'd probably be that HADN'T gotten called off yet.)

there is also Zwei is CURRENTLY the new heir-in-running, and that could also be a hilarious and unfortunate situation because she would also NOT be interested in marriage but probably antagonize him a little with some bullying

YOU'RE FINE HAHAHA. It happens.

But oh my God all of these are hilarious options. Val's main issue is that they have only met a couple of times over the years and it was decided for him. So he hasn't went against what the family wants (he feels like he can't), but he just quietly accepts it despite having a crush on someone else. I think he probably would have thought the girl was always lovely but also... arranged marriage!!

What if he had been engaged to Echo for years, but since things changed so recently, he isn't aware yet that their families already renegotiated and that he is now meant to marry Zwei? Since they've been on the boat all this time.

I LOVE THAT. "Here's the deal, that girl we engaged you to? Well, she's out of the picture—but she had a TWIN. So now you're marrying the twin." No easy out... iMAGINE

Sobbing. I already love this mess. If you're down for it then I am! I'll probably say he went to a different school from the girls to keep in line with the narrative that he hasn't seen Echo much.

Learning of the sudden shift will be hilarious tho.

THAT WOULD MAKE SENSE TO ME, and sounds good!! What a beautiful mess this is.
